Becoming an IAM Instructor or TeacherIAM has reworked the training for the IAM Teacher Certificate. The old requirements had created too long a training, requiring several years. The new system is designed to allow people interested in Heart Rhythm Meditation or Heart Rhythm Therapy to begin to offer it to others after a three-day workshop. Further trainings can be taken later to expand the teaching curriculum. Each training earns a certificate as an IAM Instructor. At the completion of the series of five Instructor Trainings, the IAM Teacher Certificate is awarded. Thus an IAM Teacher is a person who is fully qualified to teach the techniques and philosophy of the heart, while an IAM Instructor is qualified to teach an aspect of the IAM curriculum. It is a great challenge for anyone educated in an American school system to represent the principles of the heart, which are revolutionary in our mind-centered culture. Some would say the philosophy of the heart is a throw-back to classical Christianity, or an expression of the compassionate history of Buddhism, but others would say it's a radical vision of the only workable future. We feel these teachings bring physical, emotional and spiritual health and answer the dilemmas facing our culture at this time. Whether you see these principles as revolutionary or just common-sense, they still need practice to make them your own, and even more practice to be able to represent them to others with integrity.
